The Ocean Park Surf Contest was a blast this weekend!! Despite some early rain and lightning, we had a great time watching some sick surfers rip it up, meeting new folks, and just vibin on the beach! Here are some pics we took of the contest, enjoy!

Stoner Park BBQ Series June 17 2015
Yooo Stonerlocs!!! Tomorrow 6/18 we are starting our Stoner Park BBQ Series!! Every other Thursday this summer we will be grillin up and partying at Stoner Park! The turn up will be real, and there will be plenty of guest surprises, contests, raffles, product giveaways, and more!

Bay Street x Generation West May 29 2015
We love to put on events at the shop all the time, and last week we had a sick hip hop showcase with the homies from Generation West! Featuring local westside artists like Louis King, Keys Hippie, Marc Payne, and Jaae Kash, this was a great event with good times and better music!

Bay St x Pure Drift April 06 2015
Thanks to all the beautiful folks who came out on Saturday!! The art show we put on with our brothers at Pure Drift was amazing - great art, food, drinks and vibes - but most importantly we were able to raise awareness for a great cause and raise some money to buy water filters for communities in need of clean, safe water!

Art Show! April 01 2015
Hey friends! This Saturday April 4th we will be hosting a sick art show with our friends over at Pure Drift! This show will feature art and photography from many local artists, and all proceeds will go to a very special cause - helping provide safe drinking water for in-need communities in Central and South America.
Pure Drift is a not-for-profit and environmentally oriented project. The Pure Drift team, made up of two Santa Monica locals, will drive from Southern California to Ecuador, passing through coastal communities in North, Central and South America. Along the way, the team will offer information, tools and water filters in an effort to help these communities reclaim natural resources and acquire clean, safe, and potable drinking water. This event is a great opportunity to help them in their journey!
Have a great time, check out some beautiful art, and support an important cause that is all too close to us surfers.

Bay Street in Costa Rica February 03 2015
The Bay Street crew has a long history in Costa Rica. Way back in the 70s, long before Costa Rica became a popular surf destination, Bay St regulars Luca Bentivoglio and Jose Ramon Moreno spent years exploring both the Pacific and Carribean coastlines of the surf paradise.
Almost 50 years later, Luca and JR still hit up Costa Rica whenever they can, always welcoming the opportunity to surf uncrowded, warm waves. Here are some pics from their latest trip this January, with Galeazzo along for the ride!

Whats up Bay Street family?? Hope ya'll are getting ready to enjoy the upcoming holidays with your loved ones.
One of the things that we strive for here at our shop is to really support local shapers. Considering Los Angeles is the mecca of board building and design, it's a shame that there isn't much of a spotlight on some of the local guys who dedicate their lives to hand crafting the boards that we ride on every day.
Here are three shapers out of LA that we are really digging right now!
Tim Phares
It would be incredibly difficult to find a shaper more accomplished than Tim Phares. Who else has hand-shaped 50,000+ boards, been listed by Surfing Mag as a top 16 shaper in the world, been honored in the Shapers Hall of Fame, and been featured in the 25th and 50th Surfing Magazine Shapers Tree?? Phares is a true Master Shaper who once owned his own surf shop in Santa Monica and is the man behind a number of classic California board companies - Epic, Fluid Drive, and TP (not to mention his contributions to OP/Ocean Pacific, Spider, Blue Cheer, Ocean, Ben Aipa, Surf&Style, Rocket Fish, Glass Master, Horizon's West, and more). Unfortunately his resume is too extensive to list here, so suffice it to say, this man is a legend and his boards are some of the best you will ever have under your feet!
Sam Vinstein
Sam Vinstein aka Shred The Gnar is a TRUE Bay Street local. Born and raised in Santa Monica, he surfed Bay Street growing up and is now one of the most respected shapers in town. His "Shred the Gnar" line of custom shapes shows that he can do almost anything, and his work at EcoTech Glassing keeps him busy doing jobs for some of the biggest names in the industry! Support a true Santa Monica local that is sure to be on the scene for years to come!!
Koz McRae
Another Santa Monica local by way of Ventura County, Koz McRae is also a young shaper who is on the come up! His smaller, wider boards are his specialty - there ain't many guys making a Mini-Simmons quite like this guy. Get one under your feet and you will be sliding all over the lineups from Malibu to C-Street!
With the rise of machines and computers to construct surfboards, its important that we continue to support local shapers. These guys are the ones truly pushing surfing to the next level...and let's be real, we all rip a bit more with a sick hand-shaped board!
Anyways, the waves are picking up, so grab whatever board you got and hit the water!! If you need a new stick, swing by the shop and peep one of these babies!!!
